Business English that actually sounds like you.

One to one and small group sessions for advanced English speakers who want to sound sharper, feel more confident, and stop overthinking every sentence. Warm, relaxed, and built around the actual moment you're trying to nail.

What people come to me for

Sound familiar? Come on in.

These are, more or less word for word, the sentences people send me the first time they get in touch. If any of them ring a bell, you're in the right place.

I'm presenting to a German board in two weeks and my English is fine but I keep freezing.

What we'd do: Short, focused sprint. Four or five sessions, script work, delivery work, and enough rehearsal that you walk in already having said the whole thing out loud a dozen times.

My English is fluent but I sound stiff on client calls. I want to be more natural.

What we'd do: Ongoing 1 to 1 sessions where we work on the register, the idioms, the small talk before the meeting starts, and all the little things that make you sound like a peer instead of a candidate.

My team of four needs to be sharper in English for internal meetings and reports.

What we'd do: A small group programme, weekly or fortnightly, built around your team's actual work. Real meetings, real reports, real feedback in the room.

We're launching in Ireland next month and need our website and materials proofread properly.

What we'd do: A proper corporate proofread. Not just typos, but tone, register, the differences that matter between how something reads in Berlin and how it lands in Dublin.

I've a big interview coming up in English and I want to sound like myself, not a nervous version of me.

What we'd do: Two or three focused sessions before the interview. Likely questions, the language of confident answers, and a mock run so you walk in having already done it once. The nerves get smaller when the words feel automatic.

I need help getting ready for a big trade fair and don't have months to prepare.

What we'd do: Two or three focused sessions. Your pitch, your objection handling, the small talk on the stand, the language of the follow up email. Ready when the doors open.

How the sessions actually feel

Grand craic, serious progress.

Here's the honest truth about learning a language at a senior level: most of the time you already know the words. What you're missing is the confidence to use them, the sense of when to relax the grammar, and someone to laugh with when it goes sideways.

My sessions are warm, relaxed, and a bit of fun. We work hard, absolutely. But we do it while enjoying each other's company. No headmistress energy. No red pen. No feeling that you've walked into an exam every Tuesday at seven.

I've spent thirteen years working with senior professionals across HR, finance, banking, legal, compliance, and technical environments. I've heard every mental block, every hesitation, every "I know what I want to say but I can't get it out." I understand where the confidence goes and how to bring it back.

The people I work with come for the English and stay because they actually look forward to the sessions. That's not marketing copy. That's what they tell me.

← the whole thesis, right here
It's not about perfect English. It's about being understood, being enjoyed, and getting your work over the line.

Fair questions

The stuff people actually ask.

My English is already fluent. Am I too advanced?

Almost certainly not. The vast majority of people I work with are advanced. The gap they want to close isn't fluent to conversational, it's fluent to confident, or fluent to natural, or fluent to sharp under pressure. That's the whole specialism.

If you're actually at an intermediate level or lower, I'll say so honestly on the first call and point you at a colleague who's better suited to that work.

Do you work with individuals directly, or only with companies?

Both. Many people book me directly, out of their own pocket, because they've decided this matters for their own career. Many others come through their company's L&D budget, or their manager pays for it.

The work is the same. Only the invoice changes.

Is everything really online?

Yes. Everything runs online, which means I can work with clients anywhere with a stable connection. Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, whatever suits your team.

Working online from day one keeps my overheads low (which keeps prices honest), gives us scheduling flexibility across timezones, and, if I'm honest, means people focus better than they do in a stuffy training room.

How fast can proofreading be turned around?

Small documents (up to about 2,000 words), same day or next day, budget for it. Larger projects, we agree the timeline up front. Rush turnaround adds 50% to the standard rate and is booked in advance where possible.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. Fully. Coaching work with senior professionals is treated as confidential by default. Proofreading is covered by the same standard. NDAs welcome.

What if I just want to try one session and see?

Perfect. That's what the single session rate is for. Book one, see if we click, decide from there. No package required, no pressure to continue, and I much prefer that people arrive at commitment honestly rather than being talked into it.

The next bit

Come and have a chat.

Twenty minutes, free, no obligation. Tell me roughly what you're trying to sort out and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.

I reply within one working day.

Grand, thanks.

Your message has landed. I'll come back to you within one working day.
